This Privacy Policy explains how Cast's Garage ("Cast's Garage," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit castsgarage.com (the "Site") or buy from us. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run a small hobby store, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few ways. When you place an order, our checkout provider collects the details needed to fulfill it — your name, shipping address, email, and order contents. When you contact us, we receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, email, and message. And when you browse, our hosting and analytics providers may automatically log standard technical data like your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring page.

What we do not collect

We never see or store your full payment card details. Card information is entered directly into our payment processor's secure, PCI-compliant checkout and is handled entirely by them. We also don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to process and ship your orders, respond to your questions, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Site working and secure, and understand in aggregate how the Site is used so we can improve it. If you opt in, we may occasionally email you about new drops or shows; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the store, and they process your data only to provide their services to us. These include our commerce and payment provider (Shopify), our website host and CDN (Netlify), and, where sales happen there, our live-selling platform (Whatnot). Each has its own privacy policy governing the data it handles. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the privacy practices of those third parties.

Cookies & analytics

The Site uses a small amount of local browser storage to remember preferences such as your light or dark theme. Our checkout and hosting providers may set cookies that are necessary for the store and shopping cart to function, and may use privacy-respecting analytics to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended if you do.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the store: with the service providers above, when required by law or to respond to lawful requests, and to protect the rights, safety, and property of Cast's Garage or others. If the collection or store were ever transferred to a new owner, related data could transfer as part of that change. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Data retention

We keep order and contact records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Technical logs are typically kept for a short period.

Your choices & rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we're required to keep. You can opt out of any marketing emails using the unsubscribe link, and control cookies through your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us and we'll honor applicable requests.

Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Effective date" above will be updated. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
